Doggy Day Care in Tampa Bay – The Top Five Reasons My Owner Chose In-Home Pet Sitting Instead

When looking for a doggy day care in Tampa Bay to take me to, there’s really a lot to consider. How willing are you to load me up every day and take me to and from day care? What might I learn from the other pets there that you’ve trained me not to do? How stressful will this change be for me? Why can’t I just stay home in my own territory? My owner asked herself these questions and more before deciding whether or not she should enroll me in a doggy day care in Tampa- and I’m sure glad she did. When it came down to it, there were 5 definite reasons why my owner chose in-home pet sitting over a doggy day care in Tampa Bay.

1. Less change and stress for me.
New environments make me nervous and other animals can sometimes be intimidating. There are so many new humans to listen to, new and unfamiliar scents, nowhere to call “mine”; it all makes me so uneasy. I feel like I’m being punished because I’m not allowed to stay home by myself like a good dog. My owner knew that by hiring an in-home pet sitter, I’d be happier because I could stay home in my own territory with all the familiar scents. She knows that I’m a good dog and understands that I just need a little attention while she’s gone.

2. No bad habits to pick up.
You’d be surprised at what goes on at a doggy day care in Tampa Bay. Sure to you it looks like fun and friends to play with but not all the pets there are as well behaved as your dog. Plus, when certain breeds get together, they pass on behavior to each other that you’ve done such a good job at training your dog to not do. My owner didn’t want all her hard work to go to waste and neither would you.

3. I might catch a cold or some other illness.
With the stress levels as high as they would be in my body, my immune system wouldn’t be as strong as needed to ward off all the new germs I’ll come in contact with during my stay at the doggy day care. That means there’s a higher risk of illness within the first few weeks of being there. My owner didn’t want me to get sick and didn’t want to have to spend extra money taking me to the vet, which I don’t like anyway. I’m a LOT less likely to get sick at home because I’m immune to many of the germs there.

4. I can stay on my routine.
My owner and I have a program that we’re both quite used to. When she gets up for work, she takes me out, feeds me breakfast, and plays with me for a little while before I go back to sleep and she goes off to work. She also leaves a hidden treat for me to find during the day while I’m relaxing at the house. The pet sitter comes just about the time I start to get restless and saves my day. I like this schedule and if I were at the doggy day care, a lot of our morning time would be spent getting me ready and packed up and I wouldn’t get to relax like I can now. I’d rather keep our special time instead of all the hustle and bustle.

5. Security for the home.
When a pet sitter comes to visit me, they also check the rest of the home to make sure everything is okay. They will rotate lights and window treatments to show that the home is not abandoned all day. I like to watch what goes on outside from my window and even I can tell whose house is empty all day. I like protecting our home and think it’s great that the pet sitter can help do the things I can’t. If my owner took me to a doggy day care, no one would be able to bark away anyone who walks by and our home would be more at risk to suspicion of abandonment. My owner knew the in-home sitter was a safer alternative and that’s why she chose it.

I’m so happy my owner chose an in-home pet sitter versus a doggy day care in Tampa Bay. The sitter keeps me happy and active and our home safe. I can tell my owner is much happier and relaxed with her choice as well.
